From Melba's short term foster family..
Hi, my name is Melba, however, I am incredibly responsive to the name ‘Betty’. I would probably also answer to a name such as ‘Hetty’ or ‘Letty’. I behaved fantastically well in my foster home and was brilliant with their children (aged 6 & 9). As well as being child friendly, I am also a very clever and obedient dog as I can sit and lie on my bed to command. I walk very gently on my lead and never pull when I am out. I don’t respond to other breeds of dog that I pass on my walks but I am not cat or small animal safe. I am fully house trained and didn’t have a single accident in the 5 weeks that I lived with my foster family. It is likely that I could be left OK when life returns to normal as I showed no signs of separation anxiety at night time or when my foster family moved around to different areas of the house without me. I ate well and even enjoyed having my teeth cleaned each night. My foster family have 4 other greyhounds and they realised that I would probably enjoy life more as an only dog or with a quiet laid-back boy who didn’t mind being bossed around. I would really come into my own if I was the centre of attention and would thrive off all the love and affection given to me. I was very well behaved in my foster home and I was also very quiet. I slept through the night without making any noise and unlike most greyhounds I’m not interested in sofas but prefer relaxing in dog beds. All in all, my foster family believe that I will make the most wonderful, well behaved and loving family pet.
